Our Projects

Since 2011 we are building communities of talents in research, entrepreneurship and companies with the goal to shape the leaders of tomorrow. With our established projects AI Grid and Software Campus we are supporting the careers of young scientists across diverse disciplines, with a strong focus on computer science while also embracing a broad range of scientific fields.

Software Campus

Germany’s top talent accelerator trains future leaders in computer science. PhD students lead industry research, develop leadership skills, and connect with expert mentors.

Doctoral students in computer science carry out research projects as project leaders together with a company, build up new knowledge on management and leadership in training courses and are accompanied by experienced managers in mentoring. This prepares them for leadership positions or starting their own company.

The program is unique in the German funding landscape as participants receive individual funding for their research. A total of 19 universities, research institutions and companies are jointly shaping it, while the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the Software Campus. Since 2011 we are managing the program, which is right now in its 3rd financing round

Entrepreneurship

We´re developing and managing projects in the area of entrepreneurship - might it be a workshop for scientists to sketch out their business idea, a networking event for AI scientists or personal growth plans.

AI Grid

AI Grid is an initiative that strengthens the exchange and synergies between young talents in the field of artificial intelligence. We bring committed young scientists together with renowned AI experts in a high-quality network.

The AI Grid was started in 2022 and has already been extended due to its success.

As Germany's network for the promotion of young scientists in the field of artificial intelligence, the BMBF-funded AI Grid offers exchange in highly specialized Micro Focus Groups on topics such as:

  • Computer Vision (e.g. Approach to Computer Vision, Version for Robotics & Autonomous Driving),

  • Machine learning (Transparent, Interpretable, Explainable ML; Deep Neural Networks)

  • Natural language processing

… and many more. In addition, AI talents are supported by mentoring from top AI experts and networked through exclusive events such as Science & Innovation Tours, AI Hackathons and Summer Schools in the AI hotspots of Europe. AI Grid members receive career development support, travel costs to Europe-wide events are covered and valuable networking opportunities are created.
